Jennifer Ashley is an Art + Education Professor and social justice artist in Spokane, Wa. She promotes the efficacy of art to build communities with cultural and social awareness. Locally and nationally, she focuses on community art and critical multiculturalism, encourages arts collaboration through social engagement, and advocates culturally responsive/sustaining pedagogy. Jennifer has been awarded national accreditation for her publications in the arts publications, cookbooks, and is published children’s author and illustrator. She is the recipient of distinguished art grants and scholarships such as National Geographic Explorer Educator and National Art Education foundation research grants for global and educational leadership. |

December Virtual Splatter Writer's Workshop
Date TBD up to 2 free clock hours for WAEA members 9:00 am - 10:00 am PST Join Zoom Meeting WAEA members can earn up to 2 clock hours for writing an article and attending a writer's workshop to peer review your work and other writer's work. Spend at least one hour developing your article idea and text. Then come prepared to workshop your writing with our Splatter editor, Cheyenne Whitney, and WAEA coPresident, Becky Broyles. The Splatter Deadline is extended to Sept. 15 for us to workshop, revise and submit! Theme of Fall Conference Issue is Crossroads of Creativity, with is very broad... advocacy, connection, collaboration, cool lessons using reused items, anything! Start your journey towards becoming a published art writer today! We will repeat this opportunity on the first Saturday in September, December, and in March. |
Attendees will come away from the workshop with a variety of tools and resources to write about their artistic experiences, lesson plans, ideas, art research, and any other art topics in order to share with their art communities. |
