Learn more about the Portfolio Project where... Students 4th to 12th curate a portfolio based on given criteria that promotes sustained investigations, content skills, and analysis skills. This Portfolio is then presented by the student and adjudicated by trained educators in the area.
An overview of who can participate (any WAEA member!) and what you can expect from participating.
Speaker's Bio: Chantel is a transplant from NY State and has been working in the Mercer Island School District as a High School Visual Arts educator for the past 5 years. Prior to the move she had the opportunity to participate in the NYSATA Portfolio Project as an adjudicator. Seeing a lack of this type of opportunity here in Washington, she seeks to jumpstart the arts by bringing some east to the west! Chantel holds a Masters of Curriculum and Instruction from SUNY Potsdam as well as degrees in Art History, Art Education, and Fine Arts with a focus in Ceramics. Currently, she divides her time between learning as much as she can about the different arts, and cuddling her two cats, Atticus and Bainbridge. This will be her first time presenting in front of an audience! (editor's note: She will do great!)
